I made some filters to make some cool special affects in some of my images. Here are some test shots with the Christmas tree.
I need to get an art knife to cut out my shapes as you can see from the image above I have a bit of jaggies around the edges.
I'm hoping to try out the heart shaped filter at the wedding I'm shooting for one of Jackson's teachers on New Years Eve.
What not to do the week before Christmas...
Renovate a bathroom! I've just gotten back from staying at my parents house down the Gold Coast with the boys, while Jonathan has been rebuilding our bathroom. It was completely gutted on Tuesday, as we thought it may have been asbestos that lined the walls. And Jonathan and his dad have spent Wednesday, and Thursday trying to put it back together again.
Unfortunately, it's not all gone to the plan I had drawn up. This house is built out of really hard hardwood for it's frame. Great for keeping the termites from eating it. Not great for renovation, and changing where pipes go. So the plan has changed which means I have to take a cabinets and towel rails back, and exchange them for different sizes.
I'm still yet to pick what tiles I am going to have. Need to find a tiler. Need to get someone to finish off the plastering. And then have to paint it.
Click here to view bathroom before Click here to view bathroom during Will post when the bathroom is finished. Let's hope that it doesn't take too long.
Looking in from the back door, through the house to what used to be my parents bedroom at the front of the house.
Back of the house.
There used to be a big garageon the side of the house where is now a drive way to the back. A huge mulberry tree was also here. The present owners have concreted the whole back yard for parking. You can see in this picture the computers that were destroyed in the blaze.
I went out to the house that I grew up in as a child yesterday to have my photo taken for the article that will be in the northwest news about me living in this house.
The smell of the burnt house brought me to tears. I had such happy memories of living in this house, this suburb. And the changes just to the street alone, made me sad. All around is high density housing, which I would assume will happen to this block of land. Just because it's such a great location.
I'll add some photos that I took a bit later on.
This is an article in the northwest news about the house that I grew up in as a child that was destroyed by fire last month. I loved this house. It was so close to everything. And I find it ironic that it was destroyed by fire when it used to have a fire station right next door. What we didn't know about this house was that the fire cheif used to live in it. {obviously before we did} And that it used to be a council chamber. I am going out there next week to have my photo taken, as the paper is doing a story on me living in this house.
Well tonight we had a full lunar eclipse. I went up with my family to Mt Cootha. Not a wise decision. It was cold, windy, and packed. Plus the clouds kept passing in front of the moon, and my lense kept fogging up. I got a couple shots. Then decided to come back home. I think from now on I will just stay in my backyard when the next lunar eclipse happens in 2011. Lol!
Anyway, here is the shots that I got tonight
